Golden Leaves

The summertime was over,
Sunshine turned to rain,
And all about the branches shed their tears of crimson flame,
The birds had all flown far away,
The roses had all died,
But still I held nirvana,
When I gazed into your eyes.

When the haunting winds of autumn time whispered to the trees,
And the grey October meadow wore a veil of golden leaves,
When snowdrop petals glistened in the early morning dew,
It was then that I decided to spend my life with you.
