My friend
My friend doesn t even know what she has given me
Perhaps with these words I can ask her to see
In life you meet people who usually just take
But she never does anything just for her sake
I haven t Been lucky enough yet to have known her long
But she s restored my faith and has made me strong
Her demeanour is colourful and outlook bright
I ll keep her close when she s out of sight
Wherever life takes her and whatever it holds
I ll value her friendship as if it were gold
When she goes it ll never be far from my heart
As this is a young friendship that really has just start
She s clever and modest generous and kind
And has opened my eyes that were somewhat blind
Her ears are always open and mouth closed tight
Her confidence is a gift that shows me the light
She incredibly funny and I m happy to pay the price
For loosing those lost is a small sacrifice
So my friend freedom will wait here
Cos if nothing else I ll be with you next year xxx
