Chameleoned

And the stag leads me out of the woods, down the hill.

And here, at the bottom of the hill, looking up at the wood, we stand, stand still.

We can see the wood, and we can see the trees, and we can see the leaves. And there is moonlight now. But there is something else here, something new. Standing next to me; a girl.

She is all the colour of the wood, all the colour of the trees, all the colour of the leaves; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

She breathes, and I can feel;
The rainbow in her lungs.
In her lungs.
The rainbow in her lungs, glowing.

She looks me in the eye and I can see;
The light in her eyes.
Light in her eyes.
In her eyes, growing.

She speaks to me seven words; Life. Love. Friendship. Pain. Memory. Time. And Death.

And she holds my hand, and she is crying.
'And there are two more we cannot see' she says.

'Infra-red and ultra-violet?' I ask.

'God. And heaven', she weeps.

And I can see Chameleon. I can see all the colours of the rainbow in her; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
And in me.
And in you.
And in everything in this rainbow silence, chameleoned.
