Dancing With Death.

"What are you doing here? Do you have a death wish?" Nathalia asked as usual with the air of authority that I took great pleasure in flouting.

"I was just going to let you kill me. I was just going to lie down and take it but you know what I want to know exactly why I have to die." I demanded. Now that Nathalia had no hold over me anymore I wasn't holding back, she had lost everything. She had nothing. Nothing to bargain with and nothing to her name.

"You are a traitor to your family." Nathalia spat.

"Summer's fine by the way." I replied calmly. Although Nathalia didn't know her daughter's name she seemed to know exactly who I was talking about.

"She's fine. This is her." I added, talking my phone from my jacket pocket and showing her the wallpaper. A photograph of me and her in the park.

"She's beautiful." Nathalia said. Probably the first true opinion that left her mouth since she became involved in this.

"She's safe. That little girl has a family now. People who love her. Let me go. For her. She's my family, let me stop all of this." I replied. I hoped that Summer would make her see how much damage she was causing so close to home. However I was judging all of this on the hope that she loved her daughter. She seemed to lower her weapon so I did the same as a symbol of trust. Only to hear a shot ring out a second later.
