Peppermint Tree

When Leo looked outside the door,
He had one hell of a fright
The shadows were lifted over the hill
And he saw one hell of a sight.
The gorgeous red berries, the lushes green leaves
But then a strange little square
Around these things it weaved
There were hundreds of the squares
And lots of round ones too
If you don't believe me, ask Leo, he'll say its true.
So Leo crept towards the tree
Along the way he slips
He swiftly grabbed a handful of squares
And slipped through his lips.
A flashback to when Leo was 6,
He asked his mum for a mint
Leo definitely remembered it
It had the same odd fiery hint
Just when Leo opened his
It was plain for him to see
Taller than tall, bold as brass
This was a peppermint tree
