When the autumn leaves start falling
I know it's that time again
To make my way down to the memorial
Pay my respects and remember them
The fallen, the departed
Loved ones, dead but not gone
Because as long as we remember them
In our hearts they will live on
Remember them for their laughs
Musical and infectious
And their time spent overseas
Fighting to protect us
I don't like to think of their bodies
In the earth beneath the fallen leaves
I would rather think of the happy memories
That will forever stay with me
Their names will not be forgotten
They are engraved on many hearts like mine
And when I do remember them
I remember them alive
