Wasting Time

We spend most of our lives wasting time.
Putting off homework by going to get a drink.
Putting off calling your family by texting your friends.
Putting off writing by staring at a blank page.
Wasting time is what I'm good at because it can take no effort at all.
But while we waste time other people's time is running out. Their lives are almost up.
With every footstep taken to get a drink think of a child in Africa dying of disease without clean water.
With every text to your friend think of all the emergency calls being dialled in the UK.
With every blank page you stare at think of the trees being cut down and the impact on life around them.
Don't waste time, don't put off simple tasks. It's all time to be made up for later. And while you waste another breath someone takes their last.
And your time will run out someday too...
