What are you now but an extension of my mind?
Trailing off into another direction, zigzagging through space,
Lost forever in a forest of thought,
Forgotten recesses in the dark,
Hidden in brambles and thornbushes.
A tree falling to the ground and heard by noone.
What are you now but a fragment of my imagination?
Real, but not quite.
There, but not here.
And I had met you a year ago,
Had known you a year ago
And to me you were not a fragment,
Not a ripped piece from a photograph,
Not a crumpled letter on the floor.
My heart was not lost inside its labyrinth,
Instead was a golden field stiched onto the blue horizon,
An endless panorama of emotions.
You were not a broken piece of my mind, peace of mind, ease of mind.
You were not forgotten,
Not forced into the darkness.
You were an entire world,
Half of being, definitely there,
Just far too good to be true.
