It's sad how we forgot
How to be together,
Such a shame that we let go
Of the ease of existence
When we were hit
By the cooling weather,
When summer had lost
Its brilliant sheen and the
Silver in the clouds had
All but disappeared behind
A layer of thickening frost
The winds blowing away
The petals that had fallen
From cherry blossoms
That lined the path we
Had once, softly trodden
Replaced instead by
Browning leaves and
Conkers that grew too
Heavy for branches above,
The tree we had so
Patiently chiselled
With what we felt was love.
