The Last Grip

Going through photographs
My heart tears apart
So pure and precious
Skin so soft
As the effect is printed of a young heart
Baby toes , little feet
Smiles beam, no 1st tooth yet to see
Sitting alone with his life,
Watching him grow,
Behind the lense, who's eye?
The hearts that were there to see him shine, expressions of perfection.

With his brothers and sisters, mother and father,
Aunts and uncles, grandmothers and fathers ,
Cousins and friends ,
He shared every little step of life.
NOW I'm sitting here rewinding time.
Zooming in , and cropping the surroundings as for its every inch of HIM we want to see. And for his parents who have never seen.

Sitting in a paddling pool, not one past tempt showed a year fall but a smile grow.

Then it all stops! No more material images,
Only sit with thoughts of why and how?
What was on his mind , was he scared did the sun make him go blind ?
6 Months of no sight but strong and thought with all his might to see the light- he gripped his mothers hand tight-
Eyes open , Hope was looking bright.
But with a cruel twist of fate , phenomena took its place.
Did he run out of strength ?
Memories only of young and thoughts only of what could have become?
No more photos or eye on the receiving end. Just a cap on the lens

Grandad

(Half inspired by @sammielee46 's piece "Grandads" and by a conversation I had with my mum. She basically told me that my grandad was ill yet still sat me on his lap when I was crying.

Nan/Broken

I have this feeling. In my heart. But I don't. Know where to start. The need is great. I must confess. I just don't know. How to express. It fills my heart. With so much fear. I'm crying inside.

Seven thirty three, I locked my fingers with yours pushed your hair to one side and kissed your head - Flowing raven locks, I always envied, still now.

Roses are red violets are blue, don't leave now, I love you. As you pack your bags and head away from home my lonely mind begins to roam.

Grandad

I wish you were here. Like you wouldn't believe. My heads in my hands. I'm starting to grieve. Why did you go. And leave me this way. I wish it was me. Then you could stay. I'm lost and alone.
