Hart cradled my face in his hands as he leaned down and locked his lips with mine. Of all my seventeen years of existence, I had never felt a sensation like this. It was about time.
Being this close to Hart was like floating on air. He led me to the bed like we were dancing as my heart beat faster and faster.
He laid me down, never interrupting the intense movement of our connected lips. My fingers ran through his soft strawberry blonde hair as our bodies intertwined. We were inseparable.
I woke up sore. I turned to face Hart, who was still sleeping. He never left last night, after all. I looked at his peaceful expression and his long ginger eyelashes. I leaned in and kissed him, making his eyelids flutter open.
"Good morning," I whispered to him. He leaned in and kissed me back. "I guess we're going out now," he said with a sleepy smile. "Yeah," I said as I smiled and then bit my lip. "You'd better leaveβ¦" I said while lifting up the covers and looking down. "Oh, yeah, right. Wouldn't want your parents walking in right now, would we?" he said as he twirled a strand of my long brown hair with his finger. We laughed to ourselves and both got dressed.
Before Hart climbed through the window and down the lattice, he said, "Bye, I'll wait for you outside." "Okay," I replied. I felt happy, yet guilty. Happy because I was in love with Hart. Guilty because I was in love with not only him. Even the fact that Hart was my first still did not change the way I felt about Cole and Flint. I had a real problem on my hands.
I made my bed and walked to the door of my parents room down the hall. I knocked three times. "Yes?" Dad answered. "I'm going for a bike ride," I said with a hint of dejavu. "Okay," he grumbled.
I met Hart on the porch. He apparently had a bike of his own with him. We crossed the street and entered the woods, when I was suddenly given a massive blow. I was flung through the air. The impact of hitting the hard ground was unbearably painful. I was knocked into unconsciousness shortly after I heard skidding on the dirt and a piercing howlβ¦
