Ladies and gentlemen, a few weeks back, and at the continual behest of Mrs. Leelee, I entered one of my pieces in a national poetry competition. I thought, ok, why not?
Got a letter today, explaining that the quality this year was better than ever, and that although I made the shortlist to get to the final, beating tens of thousands in the process, I fell just short.
The letter then went on to say that they really enjoyed the piece, and think it deserves some recognition.
So, in short, I'm going to be published! In a real book! With pages, and a cover and everything!
It'll be out in about 12 weeks, and while I'm not exactly one to 'big up' myself, I'm a bit pleased so I'm bloody well going to enjoy the moment.
I also wanted to post in recognition of the support you've all given while I've been here, it is so valued. And of course, a thank you to Opuss itself, without whom etc...
The piece is called 'One', if anyone wants to have a trawl back.
And as Droopy might say, 'You know what? I'm happy...'
