Late for work this morning But I don't really care When I'm driving through Alaska Instead of what's normally there

Snow devils swirling upwards Whipped by wind, land on my face Coming directly at me Like driving in hyperspace

There always seems to be one idiot Who wants to overtake I'm not going any faster There's far too much at stake

At a reduced rate of knots I soldiered on quite unperturbed I stole some secret glances At natures soundproofing, undisturbed

I marvelled at the veil That had been laid overnight Like a Christmas card had come to life Pure, pristine and white

Back to concentrating On the path that lay in store Nice and easy does it 20 mph, no more

Eventually I made it Through the Alaskan Essex wastes Safe and sound, although snowbound No need for speed or haste

On my way, I passed the man Who overtook me, looking grim That's quite a bend in your front end Hmmm I wonder what happened to him...
