To ignite our lovers' game We were blinded by desire
Was it ordained from up above That we should meet Soulmates, something rare and sweet Blindly, we fell deep in love
Upon each other we greedily fed Days and weeks passed by Abused the substance, we were high And blind to all others we were wed
As gilt sailed ships, we sailed along Weeks to months to years Just going through the gears Stumbling blindly to find what was once strong
Where once was heat, now forms ice What was well is now in pain And cracking with the strain Blinded to all good advice
Erase all that for which we signed To be sightless, to let us slip Gilded sails hoisted on passing ships What was raw is now refined And is the dust we'll leave behind It seems cruel to not be kind But it's what happens, I think you'll find When love is blind
