When out upon my travels I came across a brook
It really was a beauty so I had a closer look
Sparkling and crystal clear, lovely as can be
Bubbling like a can of pop, effervescently
I really couldn't help myself, I had to take a drink
But then a thought from deep inside made me stop and think
Has it got impurities? What if it's unclean
Does it contain bacteria humanity's never seen
What if it don't taste so good? Will it make me ill?
Will there be a remedy in just a single pill
What if it's polluted? Petrol, rubbish, oil
Traffic cones and newspapers, crisp packets, kitchen foil
But all these thoughts counted for nought upon a real hot day
No second glance I took my chance and drank it anyway
So the moral of this story is to look before you leap
There may be carcinogens, to make you go to sleep...
