Can you feel it in the air?
A kind of magic everywhere
Anticipation all around
Something good is coming down
The path ahead for miles and miles
Will be lit up with joyous smiles
Colours vibrant there to see
Enthusing all with energy
Everybody's on the street
Strangers, friends for us to meet
Costumes on, last minute checks
Bands of beads around their necks
And then begins a distant hum
Feel the beat of the steel drum
Now the music starts to play
See the people start to sway
A multi-coloured rhapsody
For all to sing in harmony
Feel you standing by my side
It's gonna be a bumpy ride!
So jump on board, come one and all
It's time to start the carnival!
