1 November 2012
Open up the daytime
Let's see what's in store
Seriously chilly
And puddles on the floor
Intermittent wipers
Try their best to stave the rain
It's a sheet of liquid bubble wrap
That pops time and again
Water in my arches
A kerbside tidal wave
Wish for another hour in bed
Amid the warmth it gave
Is this what was due?
Did the weatherman tell lies
Has the tail end of old Sandy
Come and caught us by surprise
I think back a fortnight
Not a hint of grey
The brown has all but faded
And now I'm blue all day
I suppose there's no point wishing
For things you just can't hold
But I wish it wasn't raining
And it weren't so bloody cold...
