'Lizardspike', to me and you Way back when the dragons ruled Flapping wings and fire drooled They multiplied and scorched the earth But they themselves had given birth To a spore, their sad demise They carried it inside their eyes And when you saw a dragon cry You knew it was its time to die This carried on for many years Dragons dying upon their tears Until at last there was just one It seemed their fiery reign was done 'Lizardspike' had wiped the floor There were no dragons any more...
In a lonely, darkened, burnt out park The final dragon had left her mark As she breathed her last and died Something hidden by her side And in this hostile barren place A baby dragon, last of her race As the baby cried for mother The whole sad scene watched by another The only girl around for miles She dried her tears and found her smile Cradling the baby in her arms She said, 'I'll keep you safe from harm' Staying low and out of sight They disappeared into the night.
This is now, and that was then Who knows if they'll rise again? This legend rambles on a bit But it's just a story... Isn't it?
