Last night a kid with just one leg Did extraordinary things He's named after a bird And for ten seconds, he had wings With special blade for lower limb He set the track alight I'm sure the celebrations Lasted deep into the night And it wasn't just the win Paralympic record too How's that for inspiration For the likes of me and you Look past the disability Just see a great athlete Better than we'll ever be And he hasn't got two feet He may be out of breath As the medal comes his way I reckon it's his mum Who's the breathless one today
