Played some cards last night And for once it turned out alright This morning I'm grinning With thirty quid winnings Did we all get a share? Well, not quite
Our host, though on the gambling scene Turned out to be a bit green Betting too much With an elephant's touch No finesse, at least none that I'd seen
He must have thought he'd been cursed As his luck went from bad to worse Betting small change Soon got re-arranged Into notes, and things got a bit terse
And Jesus, was he loud Such noise shouldn't be allowed! Telling us blokes The most terrible jokes But he liked 'em, in fact he seemed proud
Tenner tactics with a heavy hand But a win he just couldn't land He'd have flush, I'd have a run Unlucky my son But he carried on! I couldn't understand
At half one it was time to call We'd won and he'd had his fall He'll have to explain To his missus...again... And it was £200 after all
Loud Mark, you put up a brave show But by now you really should know If you paid more attention There'd be winnings retention Instead of just letting it go
It really was quite hard work When your host is a bit of a jerk Can't speak for the others My card playing brothers But he drove me quite berserk
But because they are really cool There'll be another card school Loud Mark, you're invited In fact, I'll be delighted Your seat is reserved, you fool...
