They'd built a man, no flesh, no bone Cast him into our world, alone Seeking answers none could give What is my purpose? Why do I live? His confusion and his anger grew Wasn't he a man like me and you? He turned on us, freed from his cage And gave vent to a murderous rage They called for me to hunt him down In the deepest darkest part of town...

I knew his name, I knew his face Found him hiding from the human race I chased and hunted through the night He stayed ahead, just out of sight In the mazy paths of an old hotel Lay our own private personal hell But I cornered him upon the roof To confront him with an awful truth He's governed by an expiry date Would he just accept his fate? As I prepared to cast him from this town I slipped, found myself falling down...

I waited for an eternal calm He'd caught and held me by my arm He held me there for what seemed like hours The last saving grace within his powers He set me down unceremoniously And then he sat, and talked to me 'I don't think that I shall grieve I've seen things you people wouldn't believe I know I possess thoughts and dreams Stolen from humans, so it seems I know I have done...questionable things I remain immune to the pain I bring I've seen C-beams glitter in the dark Tell me human, have I made a mark? I am not like you. Now I know why Time....to die....'

Compared to what had gone before His end was peaceful, my heart it tore He closed his eyes and bowed his head Finally, this 'man' was dead We gave him things not ours to give All he'd wanted was to live As I pushed my face toward the sky I wondered, who's more human? Him or I?

Inspired by, and with lines from Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner'
