2 December 2012
It didn't need a plug
Or any batteries at all
I'd woken in the morning
(Santa was my mum)
I'd usually join the others
But this thing kept me on my bum
It contained, I think, twelve pieces
Blue, yellow, black and red
The shapes began with C+T
And it really got in my head
There were so many solutions
I never found them all
It sometimes seemed so easy
Mostly drove me up the wall
Just a stocking filler
Brought upon a whim
I can almost hear her now
'Oh, that'll do for him...'
But on that Christmas morn
They could have kept the other stuff
This cheapie little pressie
Turned out to quite enough
I haven't seen it in ages
It just seemed to disappear
And despite an endless search
It won't be seen again I fear
So can you tell me what it is
In this little guessing game
I don't even know myself
C+T was it's only name
Perhaps one day I'll find one
And for now the trail is cold
But I will keep on searching
For this stocking filler gold...
