Recycling Is Rubbish

Everywhere I look there is a little plastic pot
She says it's for recycling but I know it is not
She's eaten all the yoghurt and it's now dishwasher clean
But its final resting place is a place best kept unseen
Don't get me wrong, I'll put it in a lovely pinkish bag
Even though recycling to most is just a drag
And when there's plenty of them I will take 'em to the tip
Here's the inconvenient truth, not service of the lip
I get there and my car's full up with bags of pink and black
The attendant's had a look, he can see what's in the back
When I'd thrown away the rubbish and all that's left is pink
Mate just chuck 'em all in here, with an all too knowing wink
'In here', you see, is the muncher, where all the trash will go
And from here it's off to landfill, just thought I'd let you know
Back home I go with empty car, back to trusting wife
Who thinks she's done her bit by giving plastic extra life
Eventually these things will form a hill covered with grass
An artificial mountain more than likely built on glass
But she's happy to have helped to save the environment
Recycling's just rubbish, just don't tell her where it's sent...
