20-8-12

Well it's been a while! Thought I'd start to write a kind of diary, something I haven't done in a while. A few things have been happening lately, thought it best to jot 'em down in a diary or book. Lloyd's place has taken off nicely, we both came into some money at about the same time. He'd been left a substantial amount by a relative. I got lucky and managed to get a publishing deal for some of my stuff. It's not massive, but it meant I could concentrate on writing. And every now and then I'd come and help Lloyd out as well, it's good fun, and it gets me out. And it's my best mates dream, so why not? And the odd unexpected bonus too! She didn't stay too long, but it was enough to leave me grinning like a Cheshire Cat. Marianne. That's her name. And after all that acting like a schoolboy, turns out she was the one who'd noticed me! We talked for a while, in between interruptions from my mate, and drank our tea. She's a journalist apparently, for a local newspaper. Something in common, I said. Both writers. Things just couldn't be better. She did tend to check her phone a lot though. Hell of a lot. Well being a reporter or journalist I just put it down to the job. Kept slipping outside too. Ah well. Anyway, she said she had to go, I said that's fine, explained mine and Lloyd's situation. Then she leaned in and gave me a kiss on the cheek. Ah bliss! I watched as she collected her things. Said she'd be back. Told her I'd be here. Couldn't wait. Then she glided out of the door just as her phone started to ring. I remember her face changing from happy, beautiful, to deadly serious. Still beautiful though. Then she was gone. Place starting to get busy with customers. Turned around, there's Lloyd pointing to his watch. I said I'd help him out back with his deliveries today. I didn't care. Come on then, I said. He slapped my back and smiled. Bloody hell it would be a beer delivery! Marianne. How many phone calls can a girl make? Never mind. I'll be here when she comes in again.

20-8-12 Just cut my hand on a beer bottle. Lloyd laughed. Said I'd best learn to write with my left. Bye for now, book...
