Inspired by @sleepydragon's 'Auschwitz'
Torn from their men A husband or child Screaming their losses Eyes wide and wild Weathered and withered In black and white stripes Given a star One for each of their type Branded by monsters Number for a name Extermination Is this camp fire game Ash from the chimneys Beginning to fall No sign of the men None left at all Come along Judah Line up, single file Into the shower There'll be peace in a while Packed in like cattle And treated as such A pistol whipping 'Stop screaming so much' The door slams home Off with the light Terrified, naked We'll die tonight She closes her eyes Holds on to her daughter Waits for the gas But there's only water A wave of relief Washes dirt from their skin Masks the real horror That's yet to begin...
