Could you spare a dime?
I don't remember eatin'
For the longest time
I told him that I didn't
But today he was in luck
I hadn't any change
But I could spare a buck
He wasn't asking for my wallet
This drifter's in a spot
He needs it more than I do
And a dollar's not a lot
He didn't say a word
But before he walked away
He handed me a card
Saying 'Good deed for the day'
When I'd finished reading
The drifter man had flown
Leaving me confused
And most definitely alone
But as I read his words again
I realised what he meant
There are drifters everywhere
And a good deed's heaven sent...
