Would it be the finest spectacle you'd ever seen

I wonder if a dog walked backwards waggling its head

Would it ever find its way into its cosy bed

I wonder if all football wasn't paid for by the rich

Would all the big name players even step onto the pitch

I wonder if all downloads were of just a single song

If I then wrote another one - would that be so wrong

I wonder if the world wasn't run by the superpowers

Would the terrorists have even bothered with the Towers

I wonder if some squatters occupied No. 10

Would bingo callers still want to call it Maggie's Den

I wonder if fantastic creatures broke out from my mental zoo

Would everyone else be able to see them too

And I wonder what it would be like without you in my life

Unthinkable I shouldn't wonder

I give thanks that you're my wife
