The city is great
The lights are okay,
The noise is supurb!
That is, in the day.
But in the dead of night,
This place never sleeps
I want to slip away,
And so, away I creep.
I grab a taxi (thank god!)
And tell him "anywhere"
He looks at my widly, and says,
"pay the fare!"
I sigh as the city
Fades into dusk
Now there was just road behind us,
A simple, old musk.
I tell him to stop,
He obey's quite bewildered
As i smell the forest;
A smell unfamiliar.
I roll in the grass,
And climb in the trees,
No cell phone or pager,
Just nature and me.
I hug the branches,
Embrace the bush,
I love on the dirt,
No old starbucks mush.
It's now that i realize,
Now i come to say,
When you live in a city,
Try to break away :)
