Loneliness tears at you,
Scrapes you inside out.
Broken, buried dreams
Cause you to scream and shout.
You cower down in fear,
Fear of what we've all become.
It seems you have accepted
That they've stepped on you and won.
But losing isn't the end,
You have to get up, move on.
You work to make things right,
Blistering from dusk til dawn.
I know defeat is hard,
But there's more than one war.
You have your greatest strength
In knowing what you're standing for.
Though they turned your heart to ruins,
You're still the bravest I can see.
It's those broken, scattered pieces,
From which we build our history.
Because you can make a future
From anything in sight.
Just a fragment of a thought
Can, in time, build up your life.
