If you lay down and shut your eyes,
The world will still revolve.
Though it may bring final peace to you,
Not one problem will it resolve.
You can leave by knife or gun,
Take the fast train out of this place.
But in the book they call our life,
This is only the preface.
You think no one will care,
Or notice your sudden absence.
But that is where you're wrong,
It's simply common sense:
I will be the one that sees
You for who you really are.
I will be your anchor,
Though our distance may be far.
So put down your verbal weapon,
Come take my hand instead.
With the sunlight shining on your face,
I think you're better now than dead.
