I Want To Serve

I am old and I want so desperately to change,
I lived my life and played my games.
I have climbed the greasy corporate ladder,
I have done some things bad and badder.

I loved and lost and loved again.
At one point my life brought me great shame.

I have those things in life I strived.
I have my kids the house and beloved wife.

But now I want to give my heart, my soul.
To serve my lord is my only goal.

I want to take the hand of others,
I want to show another way.
I want to witness that greed don't pay.

I know that some will smirk and spit,
I did the same when I didn't get it.

But if I can show the peace I found to you and others,
And bring a love more passionate than a lovers.
Then my time in this world can cease, i can go having created just a little bit of peace.
