It's grey and oh so wet again......so what!
Are we not a species that builds itself shelter?
Do we not wear clothes to keep us dry?
Can we not cope with rain without it seeming like the world is closing in on us?
Of course the answer to all these questions is no.
How will I get the washing dry?
There's puddles on the ground my feet are wet!
I've just had my hair tarted up and coiffed.
No you can't splash in the puddles your not a ruddy fish!
Whilst elsewhere in the world a little girl sits on her mothers knee,
Skin and bones, eyes sunken sobbing her pitiful plea,
Water mama, water please!
But the bottles the red cross brought have long since been made into a shoes.
She sits watching death do what he has to do!
Her brother was stronger more able to cope, he supped from from sewers in vein hope,
His blind now it's true, but that doesn't matter for some day, one day he prays to get fatter.
So please the next time you curse the rain for pettiness that's shallow.
Pray a little prayer of thanks for a resource that for others is so hallowed.
