One War Never Ends Them All

Inspired by @smellyfingers Another Great War

It's because of pride we fought again,
Should of ended last time,
We tried,
We failed,
We looked like utter fools to him!

The great war they called it,
But there were less deaths than the second one,
How ironic,
A war to end all wars they said,
But did they know that it just sparked another inside of him.
A fight,
A hatred,
A sickness.
Spawned a power beyond our control,
They encouraged it,
Fed the fire with kindling of cheers and coals of outrage.
Pieces of paper, claiming to be that elusive gold called peace.
Peace in our time a foolish try,
A dream never reached,
Not without the battle that was already brimming at the side lines.

A war needed a battle to stop it, to finish it.
But did it...

It was agreed we learnt a lesson...but they said that last time, the time before that and the time before that.
See the pattern!

We want peace,
And it should be possible without the bloodshed.
Or is just a mothers golden dream to wish her child never had to leave!
