It was just a normal day here at home.. My husband left for work at the office.. Me and my husband married young and had children young..
I was 32 with 2 children which I loved dearly.. I had leighann who was 5 and Mayson who was 3. My husband Sam worked at a computer manufacturing company 45 miles away from our humble house in the minute town of scorcher, NC. We had a plain country house with 2 acres of wheat field in front, back, or either side of us. I finished feeding Leighanne and Mayson breakfast, when I saw a faint black figure waking onto the acer in front of us... I thought is was just John our neighbor coming to see how we were. But I was wrong...
Leighanne and Mayson were playing hide and seek, I ignored the figure until I could tell who it was. It was a man with a double barrel shot gun joined at the hip, he was wearing everything black, and had a blood red bandana over mouth and nose. I dashed away from the kitchen window and I told the kids to stay in their hiding spaces and not come out. They did so..
I went into the washroom and peeked out of the window to see the man. I quick grabbed the children and put them in the shower with the curtain pulled and told them not to make a sound. Then I locked ourselves in the bathroom.. The man knocked down our front door and started screaming at the top of his lungs.. " I know theres someone in here, why else would there be fresh dirty dishes in the sink and kids toys laying around this pile of wood house.. I demand everybody in this house OUT so I can see you!" I told the kids to stay quiet and they did so. I heard the big mans boots stomp across our hard wood floor.. Up to the bathroom. The man said " I know someone's in here.." I winced up against the corner of the wall. All of a sudden the washroom door smashed down. I saw the man. My children and I were doomed...
to be continued..
