Gone For Good

Clink clink clink
Glass falls to the floor
The bullet went straight through
And stuck itself in the dog

I fall
Into a pile of glass
I wince in pain
Every move cutting me more

Another shot
In the refrigerator
The dog howls
In his last dying breath

I breath heavily
The phone
It's across the hall
I slowly try to stand up

Bang!
A shot whizzed past me
Crash!
I'm back on the glass.

I army crawl
Every move
Painfully stabbing at me
All around

4 more feet
I hear a car drive up
"Help!"
It's no use

3 feet left
3 knocks on the door
"Open up!
Or we'll knock down the door!"

2 feet until the phone
It's so close
I hear another bang
Then the door collapsed

1 foot
I'm so close
I hear them
"Come out come out wherever you are!"

In my hand
Footsteps clomp behind me

3 burly men tower over me
