I hear a strange noise repeating randomly. I debate whether to go see. I walk down the stairs into the kitchen it's on the bottom floor. I continue to investigate. it's my soon to be step dad shuffling cards. it's 2 in the morning and it helps him relax. I ask if he's okay and he says yeah. He asked if I'm okay and I say yeah. I feel like we both lied and we both will leave it at that. it reminds me that I'm not alone. he told me he was shuffling the cards because
