I was the girl everyone wanted to be I kept saying to my reflection. I sucked in my stomach and ran my fingers through my hair one more time. Outside my partner beeped his car horn. I ran to the door as he grabbed my backpack from me and put it in the back seat. He asked me if I was ready for school. I laughed and told him I couldn't wire up because my mom had still been home. We drove to the woods and wired each other up. He needed to retie the slit in his head The One made from yesterday's inspection. We got back in the car ready to begin the day. Everyone came up to us and asked us if we were going to prom together. He responded to them as I imagined how prom would go down. We would bring The Others and finally end this. I smirked at him and we walked away. It was prom night. I was wiring his suit as he started to feel anxious. He said he wasn't sure about this. The One was going to decompose us after. I told him we were here to do The Mission for The One, then cease to exist. He began to protest by saying how nice the humans were to us and how we could run away. The One would kill us if we didn't follow through with The Mission. He whispered in my ear that he loved me. It was weird to say because we apparently were made without souls. Made with out the traits needed to love. I decided that maybe I loved him too and we weren't soul less creatures made to do The Mission. We got to prom and decided to enjoy it and skip the mission. We would end tonight for not doing The Mission, but in his arms; I couldn't have been happier. The One showed up and cut slits in the back of our heads one last time. All the humans had died from the gas he let out of his jar. The One cut my wire as I squeezed his hand and looked in his eyes. I whispered I love you
as I ended,
rebooted, died.
