The frosted grass
Cracked underfoot
As Winter took a hold
On the Knight.
In her icy grip
He shivered
Her fiery eyes
Froze him to the core
She gave him a smile,
'Stay with me, good sir
For I am cold, lost, alone.'
His blood shivered in his body
But never did he speak
Never did he refuse
Knight he was, woman she
Silently, they walked away
Through the forest
Under dusted trees
Only discolourations
Their footprints behind.
'My siblings leave me,'
Came from blue lips,
'Every year, thankless,'
And still he said nothing.
His stiffness only made her smile
Her long fingers, one releasing
Drifted lightly across his armour
Hoarfrost followed every almost-touch
Together they walked,
The Knight and the Frigid
For long months, or a summer's day
And She led the world away.
When time it came
For her to go
She gave her goodbye
With a tinged kiss.
And in that way
Still cold as she
What had been missing
Was finally found.
The dewed grass
Trembled underfoot
As Winter relinquished
Her chilled Knight.
(Quickly whipped up for @RichWithey and hoping it doesn't show - if I hadn't, I might've forgotten, and that's not what I want to do, right? :D)
