The Sky And I

Ah, the sky
She waits for me
Despite the cold
The malice
The you.

The eternal friend
Oh, I know she's never gone
No matter how deep
Life's path drags me down
below

Vast and wide and silent
There and yet not there
Sparking imagination-
The sky, she's mine and theirs
Not yours, no, never yours.

My steps may lead me into snow
Or through a fresh-made puddle
You behind, next to, in front
Yet all I must do
Is simply look up.

And she's there,
Sky, all-seeing
Heart-sister, we both know
Hope isn't what drives you
Even in dark days

She spells out in the clouds
For me
Her secrets,
And the world's.
Determination.

Yo. Me? I'm a professional Metaphor Creator - aka taking two things and sticking them together with determination and lots of glue to make a sandwich. (That's pretty much how I write, too. But hey, sandwiches are great, aren't they? Even if you have to look at the base idea of it.) Also known as a Thinker, Dreamer, Sleeper, and/or TalksTooMucher.
