Let's begin with
Something easy
Something simple
Something understandable
For isn't that how
We must be known?
Oh, sure!
Be a great!
Yeah, like that's so easy
Only a handful per age
And this one's
barely started
How do you know
How to expect your stuff
To survive?
Can't be confusing
Can't be hated
Can't be any sort
Of complicated
Must be easy
Must be simple
Must be clear and logical
Any sort of fuzziness
Is tossed down the drain
Because the common joe
Don't understand it
And we can't have that
Now can we?
If they don't get it
If they don't want it-
Then bam!
You're worthless!
Stupid!
Useless!
No more dreams for you
Only good and honest
Work, work, work
Can't have words,
No, what's the use?
Communication
Doesn't matter if you
Can say stuff like
'LOL OMG XDDDDDD TXT IT GPOY LIEK WHATEVS ITS NP NVM ME KK?'
Because really
Think about it
There's us here
And you there
But who was the last
Great poet that
Rocked the world?
One when they still read it
And it wasn't hated so
In schools across the globe
The magic doesn't linger
Flits from social groups
And one another
(And movies and music
Never caught in a book
Says the world, anymore)
No more beautiful art
From words -
Just dismissed, disliked
Labeled 'big words'
Then dismissed
It's not the world it was
Not anymore
And yet still
Here we are
So go us.
We don't need to keep it
Simple
Keep it easy
Keep it nice and PG rated
We all understand here
We belong here
Where the words are
The ship
The sea
The wind in our sails
And the crew itself
We're the clever ones
The honest ones
The facets of
The Golden Trio
We can rock here
We belong here
So go us.
(A peppy Disney xylophone song played in my head as I wrote this so I'm really sorry.)
