Alek looked at me, and I looked at Alek. And we knew exactly what to do- Run.
Leaping from the roof, we managed to land on a hay stack and fled as fast as our legs would allow. Our hearts beating in harmony, and our eyes madly tangled in all the forest sight's. We could hear the galloping of horses behind us, and that sent us flying through the forest, where ever our eyes looked.
"Get them!" A familiar, cruel voice sounded.
"We've got to hide!" Alek said, still running.
"But where?" I asked, out of breath.
"Here!" Alek pointed to a cave that was near the two bushes, well camouflaged. We ran hand in hand, into the cave, and behind the bushes. Just as our feet reached the stone platform, which was the entrance to the cave, we heard more galloping.
"Nyah!" The horse riders shouted, striking the horse, and galloping well away from our little hideout.
Alek breathed a sigh of relief, wiping the sweat pouring from his forehead. "That was close". He whispered.
"Yep" I replied, still put of breath.
I still couldn't believe Alek saved me from that monster.
"Alek, oh thank you so much!" I said.
"No need to thank me Natasha, I will do anything to protect you, and you remember that" He replied with a smile. I smiled back. It really was love at first sight for me and Alek.
"Oh come here you" Alek said, clasping my face, and planting a gentle, warm kiss on my lips.
I smiled, but then frowned.
"What if they come after us again?" I asked.
"You think they won't? After what just happened, he's got enough frustration and anger to try to rip us apart once again. Even worse. Killing us would be on his list by now" Alek replied, sighing heavily.
"Oh it was so terrible in there. I miss you so much Alek! And he tortured me, with wips, cuffs, knives, all sorts! Look at this"
I pointed to my arms, the red imprints were still on my skin from the chains. My leg had a long scar, by the knife he drew along my skin. It was still bleeding.
"You poor thing. Here, I've got some bandages in my rucksack"
Alek opened his bag, took out his bandage and rapped it around my leg. It already felt better.
"Thanks" I said.
By nightfall, we had to find a decent enough place to sleep- and stones were really not the ideal pillows. but thankfully, Alek was prepared. He had one large sleeping bag stuffed in his rucksack, and that saved us making some kind of bed out of the wood and leaves. My food also came in handy. We shared the apple by cutting it with my knife, and had the unfortunately now cold, coffee that still remained in my satchel. After a kiss, we fell asleep in the sleeping bag. The warmth from each of our bodies kept us at sufficiently pleasant temperature, and the fact that I was near Alek- my saviour, made me feel safe. For now.
