A whisper at the corner of my eye,
A vision parted, in surrendered lies,
Beasts of the light,
or beasts of the dark,
Lurking and stalking,
Stealing away hearts,
Leaving them scarred,
Defaced and raw,
Then handling them back -
Returning them in awe,
Watching a life of torture,
Unfolding behind black eyes,
Empty souls, nurtured,
Now love turns to lies,
They feast on the ice
and the cold,
A devil, caressing gently,
The souls they have sold,
Their carcasses roaming the towns,
The cities now full of frowns,
Black ice hearts,
Keeping lovers apart,
Surrendering to loveless dark,
Stolen by the demons of the night,
Never again to see love's warm light.

@Platypus - aw I love those books! Yeh he calls them daemons I think, but I think the original concept of daemons is that they are evil...? Oh well!
