A Hard Card

Me and you -
Surely we'd have a clue?
Just a few words to act as glue?

Show my appreciation, I must,
A little wink and ounce of trust,

But what to write in this card?
Why is Valentine's quite so hard?

"It's easy to love you."
(But it's not always easy to be with you?)
I need help, just a little clue -
Why are you with me, and why am I with you?

Not so simple, not clear-cut,
Seems my card writing is in a rut,

Perhaps I should doubt it,
Say we don't quite fit...
Why want that,
just a little bit?

I may be a poet; full of hidden emotions and stuff,
A head full of words, rhymes and things with fluff,
But give me a card, ask for a line or two -
Suddenly I'm stuck; how do I feel about you?

I love you, of course, but it doesn't make sense,
I hate all this soppyness; makes my head feel dense,
It's just a hard card to write...
How do I know what's right?!

#opussweeklychallenge. (I have no idea if this fits as a sonnet???). For her I'd walk on withered blistered feet. And fight the weather the wind and the snow. If at the end of this walk we shall meet.
