Stranger

Look at me -
What do you see?
Is it vacant eyes,
A mouth capturing lies?
Or a warm heart,
Laughter lines like art,
A gentle smile,
Or a glare to run a mile?

Am I just a stranger,
Wandering this world,
Dancing in the rain,
Longing to be twirled?

Just look at me -
What do you really see?
Do you see my soul,
Do you see if I'm whole,
Or can you see a scared little girl,
Just exploring this big old world?

[so sorry I can't remember who came up with this challenge of the first two lines...?]

Cracked and broken. Now put back together. This is me. After being under the weather. Talkative and attentive. Not to forget loud. I wear my quirkiness as a shield. Of that I'm quite proud.

I

I love. I hate. I cannot control my fate. I laugh. I cry. I don't know when I'll die. I succeed. I fail. But I have never been to jail. I go silent. I scream. I see butterflies in my dreams. I give.
