Standing on hilltop Face plastered with a frown Watching, helplessly crying As everything you know falls down

Fists clenched, Down on your knees you remain War, battle, fighting It's all just a sick game

Tentatively peering over the edge Curiosity gets the better of you Destruction and lifeless bodies everywhere But alas, that you already knew

Your heart rate slows down, Blood pounds in your ears You slowly stand up Can't afford to have fear

You take a deep breath Knowing what you have to do You take a running start And over the edge of the cliff you flew

Miracle of miracles, You land unharmed on the ground You dust yourself off And hesitantly look around

The fighting is mostly over Your people have most definitely lost Your still alive and living, But at what cost?

You wish there was something you could do For the survivors from your town You wish there was a way to comfort them And rebuild from the ashes on the ground

As you walk through all the rubble Your eyes fixed on the ground, You come across the ruins of your home And your heart shutters at what you've found

A small little stuffed rabbit Lying in the dirt, so eerie Looking just like one your little sister Always carried

You immediately think the worst "How could this happen, how could this be?! Why did they take her, why couldn't it have been me?"

She was so little, So innocent and pure of heart You hope it's not true Or else you'll be torn apart

You would do anything Now there's a fire in your soul You must take action Before her disappearance takes it's toll

Suddenly you hear a noise behind you Shock ripples through your body You whip yourself around And it's the enemy that you see

Standing there so smug It's their leader, the one you despise He caused the downfall of your village You'll be the one to orchestrate his demise

He starts to speak Right before you pull out your knife In a chilling tone he says "Son, I have something that will end your strife"

You spit at him and scoff, He just wiped out all that you knew You were so angry He couldn't have anything to help you

Staring at him so intently His lips curl into a smile You never break focus, And remain locked like that for a while

With anger in your heart and Murder in your eyes Nothing else matters You can't believe any of his lies

But he utters one sentence, One thing that changes what you see "I have your sister, but if you want her back you'll need to work for me"

Your eyes grow wide in disbelief Your vision starts to blur You can't betray your people, But you need to rescue her!

You put your face in your hands, Either way you'll have such loss You silently pray to God And make the sign of the cross

You look up at him with hate in your eyes And finally utter "I will" He smiles and says "now follow me, there's work to be done, villages to take and people to kill"

You follow him with your head down And your heart full of sadness You feel just like a traitor, In this war that's caused so much madness

You better hope you get your sister back, And that it wasn't just pretend You take one last look at your burned-up village And swear you'll return to help and make amends

And so you've now betrayed your people Why would you do this, and how? You had your own reasons But still, You're the renegade now.
