I can't rest tonight
I'm not sure quite why
Maybe I'm cold
Or lonely
Or stressed
And just can't unwind
I'm thinking of you
And I miss your touch
Your heartbeat
Your whispers
I crave that so much
It's dark
Midnight blue
The consuming moonlight
The stars seem to have faded
I'm so lost tonight
I don't know what's happened
I'm not really sure why
But I feel numb and broken
I feel so much fright
It's getting late
And the night owls are few
I'm alone in the dark
Dreaming about you
The sky's overcast
Nothing is bright
Outside is inked in black
The clock reads midnight
Morning comes early
The sun's up too soon
It will rise eventually
To do away with the moon
But I'll lie awake
Until that dawn light
And when my ghosts all vanish
I'll come back to life
