Hair tangled in knots Twisted down to her waist In curls like expresso Brewed in a haste
Eyes like summer skies And as deep as the sea Bluest blue with long lashes And curious as can be
Little girl hands And stumbling feet Stubby legs that are bare In the dry summer's heat
She'll make mud pies and play make believe And cast her magic spells She'll draw pictures and sing lullabies And make laughter that chimes like bells
Optimism makes her beautiful She'll see the light in everything Half full, flawless as can be The grass is its greenest green
She won't see the monster take her It swallows her by surprise Burning into her innocence To kill perfection is his demise
He'll burn up her shiny curls And blind her pretty eyes He'll steal her voice, and eat her heart And hell will surely arise
He'll call his brothers From corners of this earth Let them hear that the time has come To gobble up all beauty, and take everything it's worth
