I miss last June more than anything Summer sun and the big tire swing
Nights spent late on the golf course A bedtime that was never enforced
We'd bring pillows and blankets and books and pens And flashlights in hopes night wouldn't end
We'd lay in the grass and watch the stars Time passed slow; all was ours
You'd push me on the great big swing And I'd smile and laugh and attempt to sing
We'd have water fights in the scorching sun Wouldn't slow down for anyone
We were just kids with hopes and dreams Taking storybook romance to real life extremes
And all has changed, most for good I miss months ago much more than I should
Summer has a brightness second to none And in those warm months I knew something strange had begun
I'm happy now but it was different then I still daydream of summer now and again
