"To see the world from your eyes Part I : Dear diary
Dear diary, Today was the best day ever! The morning started off as it usually did. I made breakfast, cleaned the house, did the laundry and woke up Uncle Deric. He seemed pretty grumpy. He should go to bed earlier! As Benjamin Franklin said, "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise!" I decided to throw a tea party and invite everyone in the neighborhood! I asked Uncle Deric if I could use his curtains to make a pretty tablecloth for my tea party and he said yes! Isn't he the best uncle ever?! I got up extra early so I could make invitations for everyone and left them outside their doors. I was so busy! I had to bake all of the pastries, cakes, and cookies, decorate (I don't mean to be rude, but this place is in desperate need of a makeover!), sew, and find the perfect dress to wear! It was super exhausting! The ending results were worth it though. Everything looked lovely! I made sure not to paint on the walls this time. The tea party was at 3:00 pm sharp, but no one showed up. Uncle Deric was taking a nap so I didn't want to bother him. I wish I got to see him more often. He never visits, ever. I think deep down he's really sad and lonely. I wish he knew how much I care. For awhile I sat by myself just drinking tea and waiting for the guests to arrive. I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, but no one came. Finally I heard a knock on the door. It was Mr. Emmerich, one of Uncle Deric's neighbors. He seemed pretty confused at first and asked if this was the place the tea party was at. I told him that it was and he was welcome to make himself at home. He couldn't believe that Uncle Deric is my uncle. He kept apologizing and saying how sorry he felt for me. Then when I said that I would be living with him for the month he kind of broke down and started calling me a saint. It was really fun! We ate cake and cookies, and drank tea. We talked about all kinds of things, like flowers, literature, philosophy, art, and dogs. Uncle Deric walked in just as we were discussing politics. He was so happy when he saw how pretty I made his house look he started crying and shouting with joy! Eventually Mr. Emmerich had to go home. Uncle Deric fell asleep again while I was cleaning up. He's really lethargic that way, so I gave him earl grey tea to wake him up! He thought the tea was really good and had a huge smile on his face! I told him that I drink it every morning to stay awake, and that one cup of earl grey is practically like a cup of coffee. He started acting really silly and talking about how he wasn't going to be able to sleep at all tonight. He's very funny! We ate the leftovers from the tea party. They were super yummy! For a bedtime story Uncle Deric read me my favorite book "Matilda." I know it sounds really crazy, but sometimes I think I might have special powers just like Matilda. I need to go to sleep now. Good night diary. Love, Anica
