There was something about The moon, the way it knew the nights secrets and watched the midnight lovers.
I smiled with longing as I skirted the edges of the woods. Trying to remain unseen by those moon frenzied nymphs. My footsteps remained quiet as I tread on the balls of my feet to minimize sound. I cringed when a leaf crunched under my feet. I looked down at that broken oak as if it was glass.
I broke free of the shadows and ran for the water, a smile plastering my face as the wind urged me forward. I could feel it giggling as it brushed my face, whispering for me to run to the water. Faster, faster, until I felt the wind slipping beneath my feet.
Laughter bubbled from my mouth,
And as I hit the water I sank under with relief. Cool healing hands encircled me and I drowned to the beat of my diseased heart.

Very insightful - and although death isn't something we should be afraid of, the ending was quite an unexpected twist. Very imaginative and beautifully detailed ;)
